We’re looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and supportive team of volunteers to help us make memorable weekends.
There are several ways you can get involved, from supporting at one of our Pit Stops to marshalling on route or being there at the Finish line when the clock strikes 24 hours to celebrate and reward our participants with a medal.
There are two main ways to volunteer.
Want to get an insight into a 24-hour event without ticking off the miles? Then volunteering spaces provide your perfect way in. Fill out the form below to volunteer with us.
Could your club or group takeover a marshal spot on the course for the full 24 hours? Make it your own with music and decoration to be the most memorable spot on the course.
If you’ve got at least six people who would commit to shifts to ensure it’s buzzing all night long, get in touch. We’ll be awarding the best takeover spot volunteers at the prizegiving – voted by participants.
Be part of the team that supports our amazing participants, who push themselves to the limits in order to complete incredible challenges while raising oodles for charity.
That extra bit of cheering and encouragement from the side-lines could be exactly what they need to get them across the finish line so be that person, be that support!
Work with a diverse collection of people from across the UK and make relationships that have a lasting impact on your life. Who knows, you could meet your future partner, best friend or just have a conversation that changes the path that your life is on.
Most of all volunteering is fun! Enjoy the people around you and take in the beautiful surroundings. If you’re a people person with a passion for the great outdoors, you could be the perfect Threshold volunteer.
Volunteering will give you the chance to be a part of something bigger than yourself and put your own skills and knowledge to good use while also learning from others around you.
Being faced with challenges on a daily basis and having to deal with a mixture of personalities, you’ll be able to improve your teamwork, problem-solving, event management and people skills – the ideal candidate for future employers!
Whether you support for one day, two days or more, all of our volunteers can expect to enjoy:
Discounted entry for your place into Endure24 next year
Free event T-shirt
Free, high-quality food during your shift
Free hot and cold beverages during your shift
Free camping or supporters pass
Being part of a world-class team
That feel-good feeling that only comes from helping others
Inspiration galore!
The event volunteer roles do not require any previous experience, and we will provide you with all the information you need to fulfil your volunteer role on the day. All you need is a positive can-do attitude!
Due to the nature of our events, we are able to offer a variety of volunteering roles so there is sure to be something that will suit everyone. The route has a number of pit stops where you can be part of the team to help the participants refuel for the next leg of their challenge and encourage them to keep pushing on. Or if you prefer to cheer our amazing runners and walkers over the finish line and award them with their hard-earned medals, then coming along with your loudest cheer!
Volunteer shifts are 8 hours long and timings will depend on which pit stop or main site you are based at. On the weekend events, you have the option to do a volunteer shift on the Saturday or Sunday, or both if you wish.
Yes within reason. We will aim to find a role and location that suits you. Please apply via the form and one of the team will be in touch to discuss further.
Unfortunately we aren’t able to accommodate any volunteers who are under 18 years old due to health and safety reasons.
Whatever your role on the event, you will be given all the necessary information to be able to carry this out to the best of your ability. You will be provided details of where you will need to be and when, and what you will need to bring with you. You will also have an experienced team manager with you on the day if you are unsure of anything.
While volunteering you will be provided with all food and drink so you won’t need to worry about bringing anything with you. If required, you will be provided with your own tent and camping mat, you will just need to bring sleeping bag etc.
Once you have signed up, we will email you to confirm your volunteering spot on the event. We will then be in touch with all volunteers approximately 4 weeks prior to the event to provide more details on where you need to be and when, and also your role on the event itself. We will then be in touch again in the week leading up to the event to notify you of any updates or changes, and to check you have everything you need.
On the event you will be provided with a black Threshold t-shirt to wear, as well as a hi-vis which must be warn at all times to be identifiable to participants as well as other crew and volunteers. As well as this, we recommend wearing comfortable footwear and always packing those waterproofs – you can never trust the British weather! A full kit list will be sent round to you in advance of the event.
Please ensure you read all the information sent round to you ahead of the event so you know where to go and what you’ll be doing. Of course if you have any further questions or are unsure about anything, you can always get in touch with us: operations@thresholdsports.co.uk
After the event, you will need to create an invoice and send this to us so that we can process the payment. If you are using public transport, please ensure you keep the receipts. If you are driving your own vehicle, mileage can be claimed back at 45p per mile.
“I started volunteering for Threshold in 2018 and I am hooked…the energy of the crew is unparalleled and I genuinely look forward to all the events I work on for them. You meet such a wide variety of people; no participant is the same and many have truly inspirational stories. It’s also lovely to have seen so much of the country I never would have otherwise, the routes of Threshold events are so carefully planned and as a result they are stunning.”
